US AIR FORCE Survival Knife

The reinvestment of an extremely rare official equipment knife of the US air Force. In the late 1940s years general Curtis LeMay, commander of the Strategic arranged air Command, the introduction of a Survivalkits for the occupying of the long-range bombers. The demands for the knife contained in it enclosed beside a huge number of other functions also explicitly the processing of meat and fish in the wilderness. In addition, the knife had to be very light. The air Force also tested Randall Mod. 14, however, it considered too difficult. As a result the decisive bearers moved up to the company Böker well-known to them and asked for a draught. The first production of 300 pieces for test purposes was approved directly without other changes, and thus the knife became an air Force the official survival knife of the US. With a total length of just 21 cm the knife offers a 11.5-cm-long blade from carbon steel SK5 with a reflecting-polished finish. The clutch exists of leather, with interpieces and final handle of aluminium and brass. Delivery incl. leather scabbard with SAC stamp.
